So just a few minutes ago Dylan and I had this conversation...
Dylan: whats wrong mommy
Me: my nose is running (I give a sniff)
Dylan: well you better fix it soon (he pauses) you'll get a booger in there
Me: I'll get boogers?
Dylan: yeah, you'll get boogers then pick it.
I laughed. How does he come up with these things, especially that last sentence. Oh, the things a 3 year can come up with.

Loads of smiles and pictures!
Whenever I have to cook or get things done in the kitchen I will put Ethan in his bouncer (if he is awake) so that I can keep an eye on him. Most of the time he just sits there and looks around. Today while dinner was cooking, I sat down and started talking to him and got smile after smile out of him. It was so sweet. He has been smiling for about a week or so now, but I haven't been able to get it on camera. So I had Dylan go get my camera while Ethan was in such a good mood. I even got him to coo a little bit. He doesn't do that too often, but occasionally I can get one out of him. He seemed to enjoy the lights on the camera. Those smiles are just so sweet!

Ethan turned one month old yesterday! It's kind of hard to believe. He is doing well. Growing like crazy. I'm shocked at how big he is really. Dylan at this age was still in newborn sleepers with room to grow. Ethan is in between the newborn and 3 months. He can only wear 2 of the newborn sleepers I have. I actually got a smile out of him the other day as well. He was laying in the bassinet and I got up to change his diaper. When I appeared over the side of the bassinet, he looked at me and smiled.
He wakes around 2 times a night to nurse. During the day its been about every 3 hours for the most part with the occasional every 2 hours. He is having more and more wake time during the day. Some days that's not a great thing, because he has days where he will just fuss the whole time he is awake. I do my best to entertain him, but he doesn't seem amused! Haha.
He still doesn't like his baths. He screams the whole time. Makes for a very noisy bath time. I hope he grows out of that and starts to enjoy them.
Dylan is doing well. Not much going on with him. He didn't get to go to school on Monday because of the stupid weather. We have so much snow sitting around here. We got about 7 or 8 inches on Monday, after the 6 or so from last week. I hope he can go this Monday, but right now its not looking too good. They are calling for a lot of freezing rain.
The pooing in the potty is still hit or miss with Dylan. I'm so done with his poopy diapers! This morning while I was changing Ethan's diaper, Dylan looked at Ethan and told him that he needs to poop in the potty and not in his diaper. Maybe Dylan should take his own advice, haha!! I tried to explain to Dylan that Ethan is too little.
Here is Ethan on his one month birthday!
Taking a nap in his swing. That thing is once again proving to be a sanity saver!

No pictures this time. Sorry.
Ethan is 3 weeks old now. He has changed so much in the last 3 weeks too. His head is stronger and he holds it up more and more each day. He is noticing more around him. He isn't sleeping much better yet, but really its only been 3 weeks. I know I get frustrated at 3 am, but then in the morning, I feel so bad for being frustrated. Its not like he is doing it on purpose just to keep me up. He had a major cranky day yesterday. Part of it was gas. Poor thing. I had to take him to the grocery store yesterday. We dropped Dylan off at school and then went to get some things. He thankfully slept through the whole trip. I kept his seat cover on so that no one asked to see him and then I didn't have to worry about people touching him. We are regulars at that store, so most of the clerks know me and Dylan.
We are getting more snow. We had some over the weekend. Maybe about 3 or 4 inches. Now we are getting more. Right now we probably have 3 inches or so on the ground. It is supposed to keep coming down for another 24 hours, so that should be interesting. Unfortunately Ryan has to work today. Hopefully they don't have to go anywhere. Id hate to drive on these roads. So we are all just here and staying warm. Id like to go out and enjoy it, but Dylan and I don't have boots and I have a 3 week old that has to stay inside! Dylan would love to play in it. Oh well. Not much I can do about it right now.
Dylan finally poo'd in the potty the other day! Since then we haven't been able to get him to do it again. Must have been a fluke. He has just been filling his diaper during sleep times. The other day though towards the end of his bath, he poo'd in the tub! I didn't see him do it. He must have knew what he did was wrong though, because he tried shoving it down the drain!!! Ryan cleaned it out thankfully, and said that it was really pushed down in there. Yuck! When we asked him if he pooped in the tub he just said 'yeah'. Nothing more. That's probably only the second time he has ever poo'd in the tub.
Anyway, thought that was kind of funny.
Nothing else I guess.

Oh so tired. Ethan is an eater. Despite how much I feed him during the day, the kid still eats every 2 hours at night. He has gained a pound since last Wednesday! Holy cow batman. So mommy is a tired mommy. I pounded down the coffee this morning to keep my eyes open. Again, I want to thank PBS and Sesame Street for a few moments of peace.
Every night at least once, Ethan gets the hiccups after he nurses. So I sit up with him, either rocking him or holding him upright until they are gone or at least until they aren't as forceful. If I lay him down while they are deep and forceful there is a good chance the poor kid will throw up. So that process usually lasts at least an hour. If he gets the hiccups twice at night, then I can kiss sleep good bye. I'm hoping since he is getting so big that one night he will just automatically back off of the feedings and go further in between. Some of the wakings I think is due to gas or poop problems. He feels like he has to go, but it doesn't happen as fast as he think it should so he spends quite a bit of time pushing. He really has no problem pooping. He has so many dirty diapers its crazy. So there is no lack of poop.
Ethan is 2 weeks old now!
Dylan is doing well. Some days it seems like all I am doing is getting after him for doing something he knows he isn't supposed to. This must be another phase. Like all the rest we will get through it I guess. We get this behavior phases every so often. Why is beyond me, but we do. This time, I think it has something to do with Ethan and my divided attention. Me being so exhausted all the time doesn't help either. I do the best I can, but I feel so bad for always being after Dylan for something. But I cant let his behavior go, because then he will think he can get away with anything.
Here are a few pictures. Ethan at 2 weeks, one of Dylan, and one of me and Ethan from last night.

Ethan had his one week check up yesterday. No more doc trips until he is 2 months old in March. Yay! I am so done with appointments!
Anyway, he was 8 lbs 4 0z, and still the same length. So he got his birth weight back plus some. I guess that means I am doing something right! Really it was an uneventful, and fast appointment. The kind I like!
Last night was interesting. Sitting in bed feeding the littlest booger and he pukes on me! Luckily it all went on me and him and not the bed. But yeah that was a nice surprise at 3 am! He slept fairly well last night too. He didn't wake up for his first nighttime feeding until around that 3 am mark. Then only once more after that until we woke up at 8:30. I am just still so exhausted that nothing will help until I can sleep straight through.
Sesame Street is a wonderful show. I actually have quiet in the house right now thanks to that show. Dylan is parked in a little chair watching it, Ethan is asleep in the boppy pillow beside me and the dog is asleep on her blanket. Ahhh....just a few moments of peace. Thank you PBS.
No pictures this time. Hopefully next time though!

Ethan is a week old as of yesterday. So sad. He won't be little for very long. We are all doing well. Dylan cares so much about him and worries about him with each sound he makes. He helps out when he can with Ethan, and that is great. He gives Ethan kisses each night before bed. I am proud of him for taking so well to his little brother.
Dylan is still doing well at potty training. No accidents for quite sometime. We also have let him nap in his big bed in the new room a few times. Most of the time, he stays awake and talks to himself, but he does stay in the bed like we ask him too. We haven't let him sleep there overnight yet.
Ethan is doing well. He nurses well for the most part. We have a few issues, but I hope they will work themselves out as we go along. He doesn't do too bad at night. Sometimes he is up every 2 hours to eat and others he is up every 3 hours. Today for some reason I don't feel as tired as I thought I would.
Ryan is back to work as of Monday. We are slowly falling into a routine.
A short update, and here are a few pictures of Ethan!
