Strawberry pickin

The weekend was a decent one. Saturday night, mom came over and watched the boys for us, and Ryan and I went out to dinner with another couple. We had such a nice dinner. We sat out on the patio at the restaurant, and ate slowly. It was so nice! After dinner we hit a couple of stores and ended up bowling a few games. I will say it again, it was so nice! Sunday Ethan woke with that fever. We didn't do anything that day. Monday the fever was gone, but he was very grumpy. Not sure why. I don't have a clue as to why he had a fever. Today he seems to be back to normal. Thankfully. Anyway, yesterday evening we went to pick strawberries. Ryan's mom kept Ethan though. Taking him wouldn't have worked to well I don't think!! So Ryan, Dylan, Ryan's Dad and I went. Ryan's dad ended up taking home over 13 pounds of berries and we took just over 14 pounds. Way too many if you ask me, but Ryan insisted. So I spent basically the entire morning, cleaning and cutting and storing them all. No more berries please!!

I took a few pictures to share!

A funny

Ryan took a video yesterday of our dog, Chloe. We found out a few days ago that she enjoys running on the treadmill. Why I have no idea. So this time, Ryan recorded it. You can hear a little bit of Dylan in the back towards the end. Trust me, this dog loves running on the treadmill. There was no forcing her to do it!!! Just click the play button to watch.

Ethan woke up with a fever this morning. I have no idea why. Sometime towards the end of the week he must have been exposed to something. I hope it doesn't last long, because he is a bear. But he really does not feel well at all. So we are not doing anything today. At least we aren't leaving the house. I really hope this fever goes away...

Foto Friday

It's time for pictures. I really didn't take many, but did have these 3. I showed you the grain elevator the other day, but with this one I did a little edit to it, so now I am showing you the edit. And am using it for my link up.

Have a great weekend!

My Wednesday

Yesterday was much better than Tuesday was. Tuesday evening after dinner, we took the boys up to Ryan's parents' to stay all night. I was getting up early with Ryan to go with him when he hauled pigs. So we got up before the sun and left the house. Getting up that early was not easy. But I did. This was the first time going with him since he has been doing this. Almost a year ago. It was interesting. I didn't do much, just watched. When a bunch of pigs get together, they really really smell bad! The smell was nothing new though. Luckily it wasn't all that warm that early in the morning. There was more driving involved than anything else.
They load pigs from the barn and into the trailer. One or 2 people are inside the barn getting them out of the pins and through the chute, into the trailer. The person in the trailer, gets them in and makes sure they stay in and in pins. They then go to another barn. One person in the trailer sends out so many at a time, to the people inside the barn where they sort them and put them in pins. That's a basics description of what goes on.

And a local grain elevator...just because

Not much going on today. We had some storms roll through in overnight. For a while it looked really bad, but once they hit the state line, they died out a lot, thankfully. We got lucky. Again, I am thankful. I had all of the stuff laid out by the basement door ready to go. The power did flash, but it stayed on. It's been cloudy all day, but that is a good thing, because without the sun, it will stay cooler and there will be less of a chance of storms being severe. I wanted to get most of the house cleaned up, but only managed the living room. I got it picked up and swept and also cleaned the carpet. I am so glad I was able to get that done. Ethan is supposed to be sleeping, but he is not. Dylan is in and out of his room when he is supposed to be resting. We don't have much going on this weekend, but that is good. I hear gas prices are going back up and I am not wanting to spend any more money driving much. We may go out to dinner with friends on Saturday night, but we'll see. We don't get to see them much, so when they ask, its hard to say no. We'll see if things work out.

My Tuesday

Tuesday was my birthday. I turned 28. Tuesday was crap. Monday went fine. I took Dylan to school like always, and went to get groceries. I spent way too much on groceries as always. Nothing to exciting. Mondays usually are not. When I picked Dylan up at school, he protested leaving. He did not want to go. They were out playing when I got there. Dylan had been playing in the water from all of this rain. His shoes were soaked. I was a little ticked that he protested. Anyway...
That evening storms moved through again. Around 7:30 that night, we lost power. The wind broke a pole off just down the road and the lines went down in the field. I thought for sure that since a pole went down, that they would be out here rather quickly to fix it. I was wrong. We went to bed Monday night without power. Since we had no power and I had no baby monitor. If I went upstairs to sleep, then I wouldn't be able to hear the kids. So I slept down on the couch. I did not sleep well. Anytime I heard a vehicle go by, I hoped it was the power company. We woke the next morning with no power. I did what I could for the boys' breakfast. I was afraid to even begin to open the fridge. Mid morning, Ryan's dad brought a generator to run our fridge. I was so worried about all of the food that I just bought from the store. He saved our fridge supply. It wouldn't have lasted much longer. The generator was beyond annoying, but I was very thankful to have it. Ryan's dad stuck around to make sure it ran well too. Around 2:30 or so that afternoon power FINALLY came back on. It took them way too long to get out here to restore our power. That morning I used my trusty smartphone to hop on the internet and get on the power company's website. It said there were 33 residents without power in the county. I can promise that near all of them were on this ONE road. And were without power because of that ONE pole. I am not very patient when it comes to power outages. See, this is the first time we were given a chance to use a generator. So normally when the power goes out, we have no use of the fridge, no way to cook or heat anything. So no food. We also have a well. Which means we need a pump for our water. The pump runs on electricity. Which means that we have no water use when the power is out. So yeah...I have ZERO patients for power outages.
It just made for a very long day. I was a little stressed, and very tired. I wanted to take a nap and I wanted to take a shower. I was so happy to get that shower once the power came back. Now, we are going to get more storms tonight. There is so much nasty weather headed in our direction. Please send us some good thoughts or whatever you can spare that we won't get any bad weather tonight. Its not looking great.
On a bit of a lighter note, the other day, I won a giveaway on another blog called "Whatcha Talkin Bout Willis." It was a giveaway from a company called Diamond Candles. Click HERE to go to their website if you are curious. They make candles and stick rings inside each candle. If you get lucky, you get a very valuable ring. I had never heard of them before her giveaway. When I went to the website, I was a little skeptical, because from their pictures it looked like the candles were kind of small. That is not the case. These candles are a very good size. And the scent is strong. Its not a wimpy candle. I hate paying for a candle that loses it scent when you open it up. This one does not. I used it the day I got it because of that stupid power outage. I can't wait to burn it down and get the ring out! I will keep everyone posted on how that turns out! So here are a few pictures I took the other night of the candle and its flame. I was a little bored before I went to bed that night.

I will be back tomorrow to tell you about my day today. It was a bit better.

A very quick post. We had a little storm move through the area. No major damage at all in the area, but power lines and trees down every where. So here I am 19 hours later, we got our power turned back on. I am starving, and tired, and have a massive headache. So Im not going into much today. Tune in tomorrow though for a normal post. Thanks!

Did you know...

...that sometimes everyone needs a hug, a smile or a wave?

...that just because someone is smiling, it doesn't mean that they are not struggling with something inside?

...you can make some one's day by reaching out to them, just a little?

...that by telling that clerk at the store to "have a nice day," you may have made her day?

...we all have our problems. No my problem may not be as huge on the grand scale of things as yours but to me it is a pretty big problem?

...that when I said "me" and "your" in the previous statement, that I wasn't meaning anyone specifically?

...that next time someone comes to you with a problem in their lives, you should understand that even if you don't see it as a big deal, to them it may be huge, so just listen and try to understand.

...my beliefs may not be your beliefs, and your beliefs may not be mine, but that is ok!

...even though we don't agree, it doesn't make you less of a person or me less of a person?

...the little things in life matter the most?

...that I want to lighten this up a little now?

...Ethan hate being in the grass, even with shoes on?

...Dylan would live outside if I would let him?

...that if we woke up tomorrow and the boys were adults, that Dylan would be a farmer and Ethan would be the 30 year old who still lives at home with his momma?

...I am not a morning person?

...I usually need to have a few moments to wake up before I get Dylan up?

...our week is uneventful, but I am fine with that?

...we are having pizza for lunch?

...I could eat pizza every day?

...watching the boys play and learn things makes me smile, and is the most enjoyable part of each day?

...that miniature horse foals are one of the cutest things in the world?

...I didn't take that picture and have no idea who did. I just "googled" and found it.

...we could use some good thoughts over this way. We really do need things to dry out to get the crops in the ground.

This morning I took the boys to get summer shoes. Ryan's mom went with me to make the whole process of getting 2 boys new shoes a lot quicker. And it was. I found the style I wanted for Dylan and she handled Dylan while I looked for something for Ethan and I handled him. Ethan was not happy at all about being in the stroller. I don't know why, but he was not. He fussed most of the time. I also wanted to get Dylan some more t-shirts. I got a few, but I don't get why you can't just buy plain t-shirts anywhere anymore. Why do they all have to say stupid things or have weird pictures on them? Just give me a plain shirt. They stick that stupid crap on shirts as an excuse to charge 3 times as much as they should. Ridiculous. So I got what I needed and took Dylan to the bathroom and then took the boys to the car and let Ryan's mom go to a few stores she wanted to hit. As soon as I put Ethan in the car he was content. He hated the stroller, but was perfectly fine to be strapped down in his carseat. Weirdo! You would think he would enjoy being out and looking at things. I will never figure these kids out. At least I got what I wanted and we should be good to go for a little while with the boys and their summer stuff. If we need anything else, we will just get it as we go.
Ryan and his dad were able to start in the fields today. Although, it looks like this will be the only day for a week or more. But at least they are able to do something. Something is better than nothing. I left Dylan with Ryan in the tractor after I dropped Ryan's mom off at home. Dylan was thrilled, and so am I! Ethan and I came home and ate and he went to sleep. He didn't get his morning nap this morning so he was pretty tired. Here are 2 pictures I took real quick with my cell phone. They aren't the best, but I did what I could with them once I got home. One of them was planting and the other was working ground.

Hopefully when they get back out there, I will get better pictures and actually have the big camera on me. If I trusted myself more, then I would carry it all of the time, but honestly I am afraid to!

Update: Its been a few hours since I originally posted this. They had to stop due to a pop up thunderstorm that moved through and totally rained them out. Stupid rain! Can someone make it stop?

This is my 300th post! WooHoo!
Thanks to everyone for the nice comments on my photos yesterday. I got a nice response from my mailbox shot. Guess I should have featured that one in the link up. Oh well. Yesterday was a nice day. Sun, light breeze, warm temperatures. Such a change from what it had been and what it is going back to. That's right, more rain. Tonight through, well the next 7 days there is rain in the forecast. When is enough going to be enough?
We recently got new cell phones. Our new phones have an app on them that allows us to see each other's location on a map. It is so cool! When Ryan is out hauling the pigs, I can see where he is, if he is heading home, or if he is still loading or unloading. I love it. I bother him less now, haha! And we have found that they really do make an app for everything. If you have a problem, there is probably an app that will solve it!
While I was outside yesterday I snapped a few pictures of the sky. Really the pictures didn't do it justice. It was pretty yesterday. Its got a haze to it today though. Clouds are supposed to be moving in.

This morning I dug out some of Dylan's old clothes to see what I could use for Ethan's summer clothes. There were a few things that matched up, but not a lot. I think we have shirts to get us through, but no shorts. They both need sandals for the summer too. I need to make a run to the outlet mall with both of them so I can get them. Dylan needs summer clothes too. I hate the thought of having to buy clothes. They are so expensive. I found Dylan's swimming trunks from our beach vacation. I hope they fit Ethan when August comes around. There I go again, thinking about that vacation!
Ok, have a nice weekend everyone...hey, can you click that icon on the side of the page once a day and vote for me?

Now here are a few others as well. Another shot of the hens and chickens plant:

Our weeds, haha!

And one after I put the mail in the mailbox. Why? I don't know...

Can you believe that May will be over soon? Flying by...

Ok, so I couldn't come up with a title. Did you know that I am hungry? I am. Ok, got that out of the way. After my post yesterday, I have to say it makes me smile a bit to hear that so many agree with me! Thank you for your comments, I read them all and appreciate them all.
Let's see. We don't have much going on really. Ethan started dancing yesterday. Its more of a "sway" to music, but it is still so adorable! It makes me smile every time he does it. I love it. I'm sure it won't last long, but while he is doing it, I am going to smile and encourage it as much as possible. He woke up a little late this morning so after breakfast we made a run to walmart for a few things. I normally dread going to that store because it is always so busy, and there always seems to be a special breed of rude people in there. This time though, it was dead. We got a very close parking spot and I was able to take my time. Dylan whined from the time he got out of the car, until about halfway through our shopping trip about having to walk. I had Ethan in the cart so that I didn't have to carry him. After a bit of ignoring it, Dylan finally dropped it. He moved on to whining about wanting to go home. You'd think that being home all day everyday would get to him and he would be happy to be out. Guess not. Even with the whining I got everything on my list.
When we all got home they were both, for some reason hungry. Ethan got the box of cheerios off of the kitchen table and brought them to me. Dylan again, started whining. This time, about being hungry. I made them wait. It was only 10:30. They survived. I didn't come home with much but still spent more than I should have. Things do not need to cost as much as they do. Its only getting worse. But that is another rant for another day. So no big plans for the weekend. Ryan has a few things to do this weekend and its supposed to rain. Again. We were really hoping they would be able to get in the fields to get some work done. Now it's not looking so good. Send us some positive thoughts that the rain stops and they can get the crops in the ground.
See our gloominess:

I'm sure most of you have heard of or seen the show on TLC called "Extreme Couponing." Or something like that. From the very first episode I was beyond annoyed by the whole process. I don't care what people do with their time. If they want to spend 40+ hours a week cutting out squares from paper, that's fine. Whatever floats your boat. But when you turn that into rooms full of crap that you could never use in your lifetime is ridiculous. They call it a stockpile. 100 bottles of laundry detergent, 1000s of tubes of toothpaste. Insanity. They use hundreds of coupons each visit to the store. They clear the shelves at the store. They clear the shelves so that when the average Joe wants to come in and buy that product, just one, they can't. They can't because these product hoarders take it all. And they don't care. These coupon freaks go through dumpsters. They involve their kids in their dumpster diving. They move their kids out of their own bedrooms so that they can set up shelves for their stockpile.
To me they are taking advantage of a system. As a result of these people, some stores are already changing their coupon policies. When they change their policies they are hurting the average Joes who want to save 5 or 10 bucks a week. Some area stores are already saying "no more doubling on coupons." And some are saying that you can no longer use a store coupon with a manufacturer coupon. There are limits on coupons now. All of these changes are recent. They are hurting the average shopper. Thanks to a few people who need therapy for their addiction, the rest of us are going to take a hit.
Some of the extreme couponers do donate some of what they buy to charity, and that is fantastic. I applaud them. But they are still guilty of hoarding. I don't see the point or benefit to having a wall of toilet paper or toothpaste or a closet full of pasta. Why would you buy stuff that you will never ever be able to use? Personally I think that it is an addiction. They need therapy. It is greedy.
The food part of their stockpile is frozen, processed food that is junk. I guess that is part of what I don't get. Why would you fill your freezers full of stuff that isn't good for you? Why don't you spend some of those 40+ hours you use to cut paper, and spend it making wholesome meals? I am not saying that I am Martha Stewart here and that I cook ONLY healthy meals, because that is not the case. But I also don't feed my family junk all the time either. And I don't understand why they buy SO much of that junk. They are proud that they have 3 freezers full of frozen Banquet brand dinners. It is all about greed. They are addicted, and greedy. I have someone on my Facebook page that has recently started this insane couponing. As her stockpile grows, she has been taking pictures of it. Each week she posts the results of her shopping trips. It is extremely irritating. She is just like the rest of these couponers. Freezer full of frozen crap, and a stockpile of products she will never use. 20 Mr Clean Magic Erasers. Really? I think I have had the same one for almost a year! I wouldn't use that many. Ever. 10 cans of aerosol room freshener? Yeah. I'd never use that either. I guess it all bothers me because I see it as a form of greed. And this is my blog and I can talk about whatever I want.
I do use coupons. It's never much. But it does save me about 5 bucks here and there. I buy store brands a lot. And they don't give coupons for fresh produce, and rarely does the store give you coupons for fresh meat. When they do, I use them. The biggest part of my grocery bill are those fresh items. Even with them costing much more, and not having coupons, I still buy those fresh items. I wont buy frozen dinners, just because I have a coupon for them. Even if I could get them for "free" with coupons, I still wont buy them. Sometimes I will come into the store with a coupon, and then find that even with the coupon, that the store brand is cheaper, so I will buy the store brand and lay the coupon down on the name brand for someone else to use. I am all for saving money. But greed, I am not all about. That is my issue with most of this. Agree with me or not, either way is fine.
There is my vent for the day! Man it feels good!

Oh blah

Another day of crappy weather. Its been raining all day. And cold. And windy. Since April it has been raining almost this whole time. Yeah we get a few days of sun here and there, but not much. Its getting old. Well, no its been old. Ethan is grumpy today. He woke up early because I put him to bed early last night because he was so grumpy. Looks like we are going in circles with him right now. I am blaming this crappy weather for all of this.
I keep holding out hope for the summer time. And our vacation. A vacation in the sun and sand. I am so anxious and excited. I just wish the drive wasn't so long. Earlier today I resisted the urge to start making a list of things to take. If I start it now, I will just lose it, or make it so long that we'd have to rent a U-Haul trailer to take it all down there. Anyone else have plans for the summer?
Hey, guess what! The plant that I got on Mother's Day is still alive! Yay me! And the tree I got last year, yep its still alive too. Although, it has seen better days. I think the cat likes to munch on the leaves. But I am doing my best to keep it alive. Good thing they are both house plants, otherwise they'd drown from all of the rain. I have been wanting to frame the note Dylan wrote me. I just keep forgetting to get a frame though. I swear some days I can't remember anything.
Ok, focus is leaving me. How's that for a random post? I sat down to write with a purpose and most of the thoughts just flew out of my head. There's quite a few distractions right now anyway, so I should just quit while I am ahead.

An admission

Please note: This was a post that went missing last week. It just now showed up and if I want it to be apart of the blog, I must repost it. I apoligize. This is a result of Blogger's issues last week

I find myself struggling a little bit lately. Ok maybe more than a little bit. I think its a struggle with myself more than anything else. I feel overwhelmed, even though really, I shouldn't. I guess lately it just feels like there has been a lot. Sickness in both me and the boys, and with Ethan not feeling well off and on for a while, Dylan has been acting out, which tests my patience everyday. When I try to do things with Dylan it doesn't seem to work out very well for one reason or another. Each day I need a bit of time to myself. That is getting less and less with each passing day. I am having a hard time adjusting to that too. Truth is Dylan is getting older and doesn't need a nap anymore. Even though he stopped sleeping, I still have him go to his room for a little while in the afternoons. Downtime for him and for me. Unfortunately that doesn't always work out. So like I said, time to myself is less and less. In a way I get time in the evenings once the boys go to bed, but not really time to myself because Ryan is here. Now wait, don't get me wrong, I love having him here in the evenings. I need him here in the evenings. All I am saying is that if I don't get that bit of time in the afternoon, then it doesn't happen the rest of the day either. Doesn't everyone need time to themselves?

Like I said, my patience has been severely lacking. Its all a circle. One leads back to the other. Ethan is whiny and needy. Dylan acts out. I lose my patience for anything. Not everyday is bad, and I don't want to scream everyday. But right now I am having more of those "I'm going to scream" days than those "this has been a wonderful day" days. I do want to say one thing. These kids make me smile every single day. I could not imagine my life without either. Just because I am having a hard time with myself doesn't mean I don't love them or that I love them any less. I guess I am starting to get a little defensive aren't I? I am not happy with the person I am right now. Mainly the mom that I am right now. I just can't seem to find a good balance with the boys. I lose my patience with both too easily. I find myself throwing my hands in the air and walking away a lot. I know this all will pass, but RIGHT NOW, its here and its how I feel. After all of that, I know how lucky I am. I have a great family. A husband who I love with everything inside of me, who I miss daily, and who stands behind me no matter what. We share 2 beautiful, thriving kids together and we have a roof over our heads. I am thankful for so much. I am human though, and I make mistakes. I am not perfect. I am not right all of the time, I am not wrong all of the time. I have my own struggles and triumphs.  I am who I am.

Tornado Alley and Weekend Review

Dylan had a nice weekend with my grandparents. He got all of the attention he could want. He played outside most of the weekend. I think they had decent weather for the most part. We had off and on rain most of the weekend. We met my grandparents and picked Dylan up Sunday afternoon. He was tired. He fell asleep in the car on the way home. That hasn't happened in a very long time.
Saturday my Mom came over to stay with Ethan while Ryan and I went out. We went to see the imax film, Tornado Alley. In case you were wondering about the movie, I liked it. Seeing tornado footage on a giant screen is awesome. The movie itself was only about 45 minutes long. It was just like watching an episode of the series Storm Chasers. You got some of the back story of them chasing, and explaining what is going on, and then you got the storm footage. They told a little about the Vortex project, and why Sean Casey built the TIV. With the giant screen, it was really cool. I could have sat there and watched hours of that footage on the big screen. The end, or the build up to the end was a little disappointing, and not quite what I expected it to be. But I would pay to see it again. I was so glad we were able to go!
The weekend was nice. Both boys were in bed early Sunday because they were both tired and grumpy. I still had to wake both of them up this morning to get out the door. Dylan woke up in a good mood though. We also woke up to cold weather. The heat is back on in the house. It is only 40 some degrees out! And still off and on rain. I thought we were done with the cold weather. Guess not.
Ethan is officially off bottles now. He finally started taking the straw sippy cups. I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. I was so ready to be done with bottles. He was not. Until last week. I guess it finally just clicked with him. Now I just have to bring myself to toss out the bottles. This officially ends my life with bottles. Another milestone for me. Did you get my hint in there? I mean no more babies for me. Guess what the next big milestone will be for me. Yep diapers. But we are a good way off from being done with diapers. Thinking back, on Saturday we saw a couple with a tiny baby, who was fussing a lot by the way, and I told him that if babies stayed that small longer, and popped out sleeping through the night, that I would have another kid. But since they don't,  I am not.
I am totally slacking in the picture taking department. Its been a while since I have even picked up my camera. I feel bad about that, but there has been no motivation at all. I have also not seen any hummingbirds. Although I haven't been sitting and waiting for them either. I may have to move the feeder though. But if I were a hummingbird, I would be in a hole somewhere staying warm and dry in this crappy weather. I am not a hummingbird, but that is what I am going to do today. Have a good Monday.
(And I am asking again, to vote on the right hand side of the page) I like the exposure I was getting.

Just a short update. I still am missing my Thursday post. It makes me mad because it meant a lot to me. It was a vent, and so many of you reached out to me in comments and emails, and it meant a lot. I don't want you to think that I deleted it, because I didn't. Blogger had issues, and they say its fixed, but its obviously is not, since I am still missing stuff. Thank you all for reaching out to me. It did mean a lot. I did NOT delete the post. It vanished into Blogger land somewhere.
We have been quite busy this weekend. In and out. I will do a more detailed post when I get more time to sit and write it. Ethan still has his snotty nose, and I still have my congestion. But neither one of us is letting it get to us. Dylan is enjoying his weekend. I am sure he will not want to come home today. But all good things come to an end, haha!!! Ok, back tomorrow I imagine with a real post about the weekend.
And I normally don't mention it here, but see that icon over there on the right with the lady juggling various things? Can you click it and vote for me? I was getting great exposure by being on the first page of that website. I fell off the first page since Blogger took a crap the other day. So can  you click it please? It will help! Thanks. Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Not much

Well blogger has been having issues as some of you know, so who knows if this post will even show up. My post from Thursday isn't there. Hopefully it will come back.
So no Friday link up this week. I'm not even going to waste my time doing it with all of the issues Blogger is having. I haven't been taking many pictures this week anyway. The ones I posted on Wednesday were pretty much the extent of it.
My grandparents came and picked up Dylan for the weekend. He was excited to go. It will be good for him. I hope it doesn't rain all weekend. He wants loves to be outside when he is with them. I don't know if the rest of us will do anything this weekend or not. There are a few things that I want to do, but we'll see. Ethan still has his cold. And I do not know what is going on with mine. I have been feeling this same congestion in my face and ears for a while now. I thought for sure I would be over it by now. I really hope Ethan's doesn't last this long. That poor kid doesn't need that.
My grandma brought me a hummingbird feeder and a yard hook to hang it on. Right now it is off of the front porch. I have seen a few around here, so I hope they find it. I don't know if I will move the hook or not. We will see how it does. I just filled it up with the liquid stuff. If it works, you will see pictures of the little things at some point.
Well anyway, like the title says there isn't much going on. I just wanted to post a short update.

An almost wordless Wednesday

Weeds. They are everywhere.

This field should be just dirt, waiting for beans or corn...instead its full of wild onions and grass.

Someone is getting tired...

His hair gets curly in the humidity

Not sure what that look is about? Elvis maybe?

Have a great day!

Yesterday Dylan brought home one of the latest projects from school. I guess they had to share their interpretations of a recipe from us Moms. Then the teacher put into a book form. It was pretty cute. I had to laugh at the way they shared these recipes. I want to share some of them with you.
Jaydon's Mom's Mac & Cheese:
Put in oven for 5 mins on 3 degrees
Put in freezer for 4 minutes
Take it out

Gabby's Mom's fried chicken, hot pocket & side of Chili & Fries
Fried Chicken:
Roll chicken in flour
Put in skillet
Cook for 10 minutes on hot
Hot Pocket:
Take wrapper off
Put in oven on 3 degrees for 1 minute
Chili and Fries:Buy from Gold Star
Heat up

-Now that last part made me laugh out loud. How cute!

Lainey's Mom's Vegetable Soup
Open Can
Pour it into a pan
Cook for 10 minutes

Charity's Mamaw's Mac&Cheese, Peas, and Chicken
Put cheese on it
Cook for 3 minutes
Stir them up
Smash some for baby brother
Chicken:Put in a pan
Put in oven
Leave it in for a minute and it just happens
Put it outside to cool

Now here is Dylan's entry:
Dylan's Mom's Chicken
Put chicken in a pan
Put it in the oven
Cook for 3 minutes
Wait in the living room

Aren't those just too funny! Interesting how kids see some things. I wish it only took a few minutes to cook dinner every night!

We are lucky again today. The sun is out and it is a nice day. There is a light breeze and its warm. Only a small chance of rain for most of the week. I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. I started to get things straightened back up around here, but once I got the kitchen floor mopped I ran out of steam. I am going to try to work on the living room once the kids are napping. Maybe. My congestion in back in my ears. It was gone yesterday and I felt fine. Overnight it came back and now everything I hear is muffled. It's more annoying than anything else. Ethan seems to be doing fine with his cold. Right now its just a runny nose and for the last 2 days it doesn't seem to be slowing him down at all. I think that's all for now. Have a nice week!

Hello Sunshine!

The weekend is over, and I can't say that I am sad about this. It was just ok. Saturday Ryan was gone most of the day. I had mom come over for dinner, which was nice. Dylan was thrilled. He had her pretty much controlled. He enjoyed it. Sunday didn't start out to well. Ethan woke up with the cold that I have. So he spent the day sneezing and snotting. He was off and on grumpy, but that's understandable. I know how bad i felt when the cold started, so I can understand how he feels. But it did make for a long day. I was given my Mother's day gifts after breakfast.
Dylan made me this: Ryan spelled the words for him and Dylan wrote them. I am so proud of him..Not too bad!!

Here is the plant they gave me. It is a bromelaid. That's what the tag says anyway. I know nothing about plants. Its very pretty though. I have it sitting on the mantel in the living room. It says it doesn't need much light, so that will be the perfect place to sit it to enjoy it.

We had a gift card for Bob Evans that we used for dinner. Ryan and Dylan went to pick up our dinner. I was so happy not to have to cook, and bonus, we spent NO money. Gift cards are really the best gifts. I am so thrilled every year at Christmas when we get them. We use them off and on through the year and it is so nice. After dinner we wanted to relax, but Ethan got really crabby and Dylan got himself in trouble. So we ended the evening a little stressed. We also had a bird in the attic, so Ryan went up to get it out, but found 4 dead ones instead. I don't know how they are getting in there. I'm just glad he handled it, because I don't think I could have. Yuck.

Today it is such a nice day out. No rain. The sun is out and there isn't a cloud in the sky. We don't have any plans for the week. Which is fine. I am still not over the cold and now with Ethan sick, its best just to hang out here.

One last thing. I know that normally I dont post about current events or things like that here, but I wanted to share this one story. It amazes me really. Its about Japan and its earthquake. Its amazng how much that quake changed things there. Click HERE to read it. Have a nice Monday.

So a big Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mommas out there. Enjoy your day. You are all appreciated and loved. Here are some flowers from me to all of you...

For now..

...the sun is shining. The wind is calm. Its nice out. But it is supposed to rain. Again. Ryan did get the yard mowed yesterday. He had to move the deck to the highest setting, so it needs to be done again, asap. But it doesn't look like that will be happening. I don't know if he will make it home from his meeting in time to mow it before the rains.

For now I feel half way decent. I have congestion in my nose, and now a slight cough, but the pains I felt yesterday are gone. And that I can live with. I hope to feel decent enough to jump back on the treadmill. I didn't do anything yesterday because I felt so miserable. Ryan came home just before lunch to grab Dylan. That was nice. Dylan enjoyed it and I was able to rest. Ethan played well by himself, and then went down for his nap. I never managed to sleep, but rested.

Now I am hoping that neither boy gets whatever I have/had. Id much rather be the sick one. They don't need that.

While Dylan was outside playing yesterday he found a bird's nest inside his playhouse. Ryan didn't know about it, until Dylan walked up to Ryan holding a nest full of babies. Sigh. Kids. And then later ran to Ryan to tell him that he found a snake and played with it! After further questioning, we aren't sure if it was a worm or a snake. Dylan said that it didn't try to bite him. Wouldn't a snake try to bite if someone picked him up? He wouldn't tell us what color it was. I am truly hoping it was a fat worm. Dylan has only seen a snake in the zoo but does know what they look like. And he of course has touched worms. Ick. But like I said, once we started asking about it, Ryan and I have no idea. Kids.

No big plans for the day. Ryan has to work this evening. I am just hoping to be over whatever this is shortly. Have a good Saturday all! Check back tomorrow for Mother's Day.

A link and some words to follow

Linking up with

I shared this photo the other day, but I had 2 edits for it. I am choosing the first one here for the link up.

It is a photo I took last Saturday while up at Ryan's parents place.

I am getting a little tired of Blogger's hiccups. There are little issues here and there that crop up each week. Blah! And I am sick. I don't know. Cold or really bad allergies. It hit me yesterday. No Wednesday night actually. Then was a sore throat. The next day it was a sore throat, runny nose, but still it was clogged. How does that work? Ick. Today it is all of that plus major aches everywhere, especially in the lower back. Although I'm not totally blaming the back pain on the sickness. I think that is from the treadmill workout I did yesterday. All I know is that I am miserable. These are the days when I'd love to have a nanny. From 7 am to 7 pm. Mommies don't get sick days. I fell asleep yesterday afternoon while the boys were napping. It's been a long time since I've fallen asleep in the afternoon. And of course I didn't sleep well last night. I was uncomfortable in every way.

We don't have any plans for the weekend. If I still feel like this, all that I will want to do is lay in bed.

Things I Like

I thought that I would share a list of random things that I like or enjoy.

I love Myrtle Beach as a vacation spot. I have so many wonderful childhood memories from visiting this place year after year. I am excited to take both kids there and hope to make it a regular vacation spot for us. There are so many things there to keep kids busy, its wonderful.

Coffee. I must have coffee. This is my normal brand. I love my coffee.

This network is great. Dylan watches it in the mornings. The shows are great. Much better content than Nickelodeon. Now don't get me wrong, Nick does have some shows that are perfectly fine. Mainly thier morning shows. I just prefer PBS I think.

I have a total weakness for Nerds. No idea why. I just can't resist those little things, haha!

I use snapfish everytime I get my photos developed. It is so simple to upload them and have then sent to you. I hate going to Walmart. Hate it. So this is one less Walmart trip that I have to make. There are totally good on customer service too. I had an issue once. I emailed them, asked them and then they fixed it and kept one happy customer.

I love my camera! This thing makes me happy everytime I take pictures. I have so much to learn about it and photography still, but I just love this camera. There are so many wonderful things about it.

Natural applesauce. No sugar added. Why on earth would you buy applesauce that has high fructose corn syrup in it? Thanks Motts. You know what else is nice about it? I can buy it in bulk at Sams Club!

Those are just a few of the things that make me happy.

What makes you happy?
